Happy Holidays!

It's true, that a person is very busy after retirement! I don't know where the days are going now. :)
Since I can't put up the Christmas tree until the boxes from the store are sorted and put away in my scrap room, it will be done, soon? And as promised we will post layouts and tips.
Until then, I hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas!

As of today, there is still no new lease for the store, so I have decided to continue the sale. Starting Monday everything in the store will be 50% off.

Sale Continues!

As most of you know already, we do have a buyer for the store, and our plan was for her to take over ownership with no interruption to the store being open.

Negotiations with the landlord are taking longer than we both expected, so I have decided to extend the storewide sale through Thursday and Friday.
The store will be open all day Thursday, 10-6, but in observance of Halloween hours for Friday will be 10-3.
I will post more as I know more info.

Many thanks to all of you who have sent me emails and stopped by the store. I will miss all of you, and deeply appreciate all of your support for the store and your friendship through the years.
I hope to continue seeing all of you from the other side of the counter, and at crops and classes that the new owner will offer....she is full of energy and creative new ideas!

Is it really October, already!

Halloween is just around the corner. Since it's always a favorite Holiday, we've stocked up on lots of new Halloween lines.
We also have a Halloween kit, which includes 2 layouts for those of you that need quick layouts.
New School, Baby and Thanksgiving has arrived, along with lots of other themes.

If you've been waiting for the new stickle colors they finally arrived. The 8x8 acrylic albums also arrived, along with lots of other goodies.

Back to Normal????

This morning's hurricane forecast seems better for us, although I think we won't feel completely confident until it's on shore someplace other than here!

Starting today, we will resume normal hours at the store. We will have a crop Friday night, with 2 projects available.

Lena's Tuesday class is also back to normal

Welcome home everyone!!!!

The store will open today at 10AM.
Hours for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be shortened to 3PM.
Hopefully after that we can resume normal hours, and are planning to crop Friday night.

Home Again!

I hope those of you that are home, made the trip safely, and didn't find damage to your homes. Those that are still away, have a safe trip back.

Our thoughts are with our friends in Houma and the other areas that were hit hard by the storm.

I think it will still be several days before life is back to normal, and our employees can be back at the store. I will post again when I know which day we can reopen.

What a way to spend the Katrina anniversary, worrying about another one!
Because the path of the storm is still so uncertain, the store will be closed Saturday, in case we do need to evacuate. God willing we will reopen Tuesday.
Our wish is for all of you to be safe!!!!

Boston Bound

We're very sad that Jamie will be leaving for school in Boston early next week. This Friday will be her last crop for quite awhile. If you'd like to join us for the crop, or stop in to wish her well on this new journey in her life, she's planning a fun night for all.
We all will miss her very much, but are very proud of all that she has accomplished and know she'll do very well in Boston!

All of the product has arrived for the Tim Holtz class! The class will be, Thursday 8/14, 6-8pm. Call the store to reserve your spot, this will be a fun class. You will learn to use his products and have some to take home.

The project for tonight's crop is a 2 page layout for Family. It's really cute, Jamie did a great job.

To continue the celebration for our anniversary, all stamps and stamping stuff will be 30% off through next Thursday.

As of last night we still had one opening for tomorrow's Acrylic Album class. If you've been wanting to learn how to work with acrylic, you don't want to miss this class. Lisa's album is amazing!

Geaux Tigers

Are you an LSU fan? We have the cutest mini book to display all of your favorite LSU pictures. This class will be on Saturday, July 19th from 11am - 1pm. You will create a 5x7 mini book with LSU themed accents and colors. Call to sign up, space is limited!

Next All Day Crop is scheduled for August 16. Since this crop fills up so fast, payment is required to hold your spot.
We're still working on a theme, but "Back in School" may be it. Think prizes for attendance, good behavior......yeah right! LOL! We'll see what the crew comes up with. :)

New product is still arriving. The cardstock rack is full with lots of new Bazzill colors.
Beach and summer papers, stickers and embellishments.
Boy and Girl shimmer papers, felt and chipboard embellishments and stickers.

While we were at the convention we were lucky enough to take a class by Tim Holtz. http://www.timholtz.typepad.com/
It was great fun meeting him and spending time learning from him. The product has been shipped and should be arriving soon, and we will be teaching this class. If you've heard of grungeboard, distress inks and fragments but don't know what they are or how to use them, you'll love learning in this class. A sample is at the store if you'd like a peak.
I will post the class info as soon as we have the product.

Technique Tuesday

Tuesday's class themes are 4th of July and Beach. Be prepared to get messy! We're making the background papers for each of these layouts, so you'll be cutting, tearing, painting and gluing, and learning lots of techniques.
Time: 6-8pm, and we will be starting at 6. Call the store by Monday to reserve your spot, seating is limited.

Lots of new stuff this week. Disney, and Disney albums that are just too cute. Papers and embellishments for boys, girls, family, swim and dad.

The LSU mini album class is set for Saturday, July 19, call the store to sign up, seats are limited for this class.

Tuesday's class themes are swim and Disney, please call and let us know by Monday if you want a kit. We hate to turn anybody away, but the kits are made by Monday. I do apologize to those of you we couldn't accommodate last week.

For the Friday crop the projects are a 2 page layout about Family. Jamie is also making a journal/address book. Call the store to save your spot. If you don't want to do the projects, you are still welcome at the crop, come and work on whatever you like.
